Individuals needed to work with special needs clients in the Tangipahoa and Livingston areas. Day and night shifts available. You will be helping with cooking, bathing, housekeeping, running errands, general life skills for the client you will work with. Must pass a drug test and background search. DIRECT SERVICE PROFESSIONAL JOB DESCRIPTION
1. High School Diploma / or 2 years work experience
2. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required.
3. Driver’s license and Insurance on your vehicle is REQUIRED !!!
Some of the specific job duties included but not limited to:
1. Will report to the home of the individual identified to receive supports for the designated date (s) and time (s)
2. Will monitor the health and safety needs of the individual.
3. Will follow TARC’s Plan of Care, which identifies the specific supports to be provided.
4. Is responsible for immediately communicating/reporting incidents of abuse and neglect, significant behavioral incidents
and any changes in the emotional and health status of the individual to the appropriate person, including the QMRP/Supervisor,
Program Director/ Registered Nurse, respectively.
5. Is responsible for documenting those supports provided, including the completion of Time Sheets, Data Sheets, Illness/Injury Reports
evacuation routes and any other document deemed necessary.
6. Is responsible for attending meetings and training as requested including, but not limited to:
CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration, accidents etc.
· Is responsible for following all TARC procedures and policies.
· Upon hire each employee must successfully complete 16 hours of orientation, 16 hours of on the job training and CPR/First Aid
If they are not currently certified.
· Obtains 16 hours of training per year in the job related areas as approved by the Program Director.
· If responsible for administering medication you must complete a 16 hour medication administration class before giving any medication.
· May be responsible for lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, stooping, bathing, hygiene, cooking, cleaning, wheelchair assistance, transporting,
paperwork, and for any other assistance specified in the client’s CPOC or required by DHH Licensing standards.
