FUNDRAISERS

Penny Power

Penny Power is hosted in the Tangipahoa Parish Schools every February.  It is part one of our major fundraisers.  Children bring various denominations of coin, cash and checks to help reach class room goals.  When goals are met, pizza parties are provided.  Last year, children raised $65,000 for TARC.  We appreciate Superintendent Louis Joseph and the School Board for allowing TARC into their hearts and their schools for the last 16 years and counting.

Radiothon

Radiothon is hosted by Northshore Broadcasting.  For 2 days, TARC consumes the radio station with staff, board members, families, and volunteers to raise money.  Local celebrities go out and solicit funds to reach goals set by the agency.  Last year, our goals were superceded.  Local people gave in excess of $75,000 for this event.  This event is held every March and has been going on in excess of 20 years.  Thank you to the many people who pull this event off.  You are amazing!

Fish Pitch

Fish Pitch is hosted and put on by staff and friends of Tin Lizzy's.  Scott and Leah Mullins, as well as Carl and Lois Lind work diligently to ensure a fun and exciting event.  Fish tosses/throws and turtle races highlight the event.  Music entertainment is provided and food to fill your tummy is sure to please.  This event is typically hosted the last Saturday in July.  Watch our calendar for details.

Southeastern Lions....Scoring runs for TARC

Southeastern Lions....Scoring runs for TARC is a concept that was formed by Coach Jay Artigues and our very own Robin Abrams.  For every run that comes in from our mighty Lions, a donation is made for TARC.  Last year, each run was worth in excess of $600.  Thanks Lions for a great annual event!

AWOL

This is an amazing event for you off-roaders and 4 x 4 cruizers.  Josh Randell, President for the AWOL Jeep Club, approached us about this event.  Men, women, and children come from a Tri-Parish area to meet at Community Motors for activities, obsticles courses and then 2 major trail rides.  It is a  hoot of fun and raised $5,000 for our programs.  Thanks for making this a recurring event.  www .geaux-awol.com

If you know of other ways that TARC could raise money, or if you would like to volunteer for our events, please contact Robin Abrams, Development Coordinator at 985-549-0712.
