EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE

Hello, my name is Melinda Shaffett. I am the Executive Director for TARC. My employment began with TARC in 1995. It was my initial intent to take this position for a temporary time until “something better” came along. I have had offers over the last 10+ years (good offers), however, I feel that my place is with TARC. It is rare that a person can find employment that is as fulfilling as I have.

I am married to Todd Shaffett and we have triplet sons. They were born October 15, 2004, 6 ½ weeks early. We have been so blessed that our children have been healthy. We enrolled our children in TARC's daycare program Kids ‘R' Us Early Learning Center in January '05 when I returned to work. The staff are truly wonderful and have been a huge asset to our family.

Additionally, our children became part of TARC's Early Intervention program in February ‘05. It is in this program that our Special Instructor works with my children to ensure that they meet their development milestones. You see, I am not only a TARC employee, I am a TARC mom.
