In the beginning of December, Kids 'R' Us was approached by a young Boy Scout named Anthony Bellaci who currently lives in Dhahran Saudi Arabia.
He was trying to complete his Eagle Scout Project and contacted us for his service project.
After several E-mails we decided that he would paint the two therapy rooms in the
Kids ‘R’ Us Building and clean and organize the toys and equipment.
He, along with his troop, collected stuffed animals and raised money to purchase paint and other supplies needed to complete his project.
Anthony and his Mom Valorie arrived in Louisiana the last week of March and Anthony wasted no time purchasing all the supplies with help from the local Lowe’s Home Improvement store. Tuesday and Wednesday evening Anthony prepared and painted the rooms with help from Scoutmaster Mark Benton, his wife and several scouts of Troop 170 from Holy Ghost. During the day Anthony cleaned, organized and labeled books and purchased storage containers. He even had enough money to surprise all the children at Kids ‘R’ Us with Easter buckets and treats.
In total Anthony has spend over 100hrs on this project which includes planning, fundraising, researching paint colors and the actual labor.
TARC would like to thank Anthony, his Mom, his Grandmother who provided everyone with sandwiches, Dhahran Troop 1 and Hammond Troop 170, Lowe’s Home Improvement Store and countless others who helped.
If you are a Scout Leader in need of Service projects you may contact Jennifer or Yvonne

Thanks!!!
